Wednesday: What Am I Reading?

If you caught my posts last week, you would know that I’ve become enamoured with the world of travel blogging. It’s like a black hole you can get lost in, every further click leading to a new adventurer, lists of tips and tricks, amazing photos, captivating pieces of prose and hours of endless Vlogs to entice you further to… click.

I have been trying to balance my online reading with offline reading (eg. tangible paperbacks) and feel like I have done a pretty good job. In the past four days I have ploughed through two books and am well into a third. However, the travel blog world keeps calling me back. There is so much to learn, to see, to do. The community is interactive, supportive, and hypnotizing.

There are three blogs in particular I’ve have been really interested in this week. Let me introduce you:

Goats on the Roads

Beyond having a fabulous name, this blog has honest and useful content about how these two (Nick & Dariece) are able to live a life of travel. I came across their blog last week when I stumbled upon a linkup on twitter #WeekendWanderlust. The linkup is held by Justin Plus Lauren and a few others in the travel blog world. However, Goats on the Road caught my eye, initially because of their discussions of Grenada and their love for the island which has a special place in my heart. Since then I have been on their blog religiously trying to wrap my head around all they have seen and done. I would highly suggest checking these two out.

HeyNadine

I am shocked that I am only discovering Nadine now. She has been posting blogs/ vlogs for over four years now and has a stellar following (over 180,000 subscribers on YouTube). Offering travel expertise in a cheeky yet informative way and collaborates with various other bloggers in the travel blog world, Nadine is adorable, authentic, and makes you wish she was your BFF. She’s killing it – I definitely suggest you check her out.

Blakes Alive

I’m not exactly sure how I stumbled upon this young buck but I’m glad I did. Blake is relatively new to the blogging world, but his passion for travel and adventure seems to be seeping through his pores and now written on his arm. He’s done a beautiful job designing his website and is working hard on collaborations in order to establish himself in the industry. I’m excited to watch his journey and how fast he can knock off his bucket list items.

I truly recommend you connect yourselves with some of these people, or in an area of blogging that interests you. You’ll be surprised how much they can teach, inspire, and motivate.

Are you new to the world of travel blogging? What are the websites you are following for inspiration?
