shoppers optimum points

A few months ago I ran into the Shoppers Drug Mart across the street with just my debit card in hand to grab something (no recollection of what it was – I’m there so often) but this time was different. When I approached the cashier she kindly asked, as they always do…

“Do you have an Optimum card?”

“Not on me,” I stated in disappointment.

“Do you have your cellphone on you? I can just scan the app.”

BRUSH Salon

I have a confession to make, one that is sure to make any hairstylist cringe.

It has been almost seven months since I have had my hair coloured and over a year (yikes!) since I have had it cut.

Needless to say, it was time. My ends were fried, my colour was brassy and my roots… well, let’s not even go there. But after my last disappointing experience, I was hesitant to let anyone touch my hair.

I did it.

After months of being on the fence about it, I finally took the leap and signed up for ClassPass.

I’d heard about ClassPass about a year ago from one of the bloggers I follow, Alexandra Grant, over on To Vogue or Bust but I was travelling at the time, so I didn’t think much about it. Even when I returned home I didn’t think much about it, but then again… I didn’t really think about fitness at all.

#getplenty

Last weekend, Plenty held their warehouse sale at the Vancouver Convention Centre. In spite of my brain-fog from Saturday night, I decided (with a little persuading from a friend) that I would make an appearance.

I prayed to the shopping gods that it wouldn’t be anything like the Aritzia Warehouse Sale – and my prayers were answered. No lines, friendly staff, well-organized and some great deals; what more could you ask for?

Christmas is a time for laughter and joy. It’s a time for eating, drinking and relaxing with family and friends. A time to embrace giving but also secretly relish in receiving and as many couples know, it’s also the time of year to compromise on what side of the family to spend Christmas with.

This year, we are headed back to Ontario for Christmas to spend the holidays with my side of the family and I couldn’t be more excited.
