Get out there and see some amazing things

Red Light District, pt. 2

Back in July, I wrote a post about the Red Light District in Amsterdam where I shared some interesting facts about the De Wallen (as it is known to locals) district. One topic I did not discuss in the post was the Red Light District’s association with prostitution.

I can’t lie – the Red Light District and prostitution go hand-in-hand, but the Amsterdam version is not the same as most North Americans are familiar with. Therefore, I thought the idea of prostitution in Amsterdam deserved its own post, because it’s a topic often considered taboo. But if you’re travelling to Amsterdam it’s a topic you’ll be talking about. I promise. Now let’s get you some answers… View Post

Where to Stay in Grenada

WHERE TO STAY IN GRENADA (1)

I have talked about my love for the island of Grenada a few times on the blog now. This is paradise on earth.

My post Great Eats in Grenada has been one of my most popular posts, with Things to Do in Grenada catching up quickly. Therefore, I thought it was time to share my thoughts on where to stay on this magnificent island.

I admit I almost always stay with my in-laws, but if they ever needed a break from me, you’d be able to find me at one of these exceptional island resorts. I’ve been to each one, so take my advice…

Style Secret: Clean Out Your Closet

A girl can dream.

My closet looks nothing like the ones in the magazines, or the above picture for that matter (which is Whitney Port’s closet if you were wondering).

Personally, I would refer to my closet as poorly designed, cramped and a source of mild frustration but also, one of my favourite places.

I love waking up and deciding what I’m going to wear, but seeing as I don’t have a lot of space, I need to make sure I use all items within.

Travel Channels That Inspire Wanderlust

travelchannelsMr. Ben Brown, The Blonde Abroad, EX-PATS

From blogs to YouTube, SnapChat, Instagram and more, it’s easy to catch a case of wanderlust in this day and age. So much so, that sometimes it can feel that everyone and their grandmother is off on some grand adventure.

But the travel blogging/ vlogging community isn’t about sharing their adventures to put them on an unreachable pedestal. It’s quite the reverse.

The majority share with the world in an attempt to let us all know that if you want to travel the world and/ or live a different type of lifestyle, it can be done. Regardless of where you come from or what budget you may have, catching a case of wanderlust can be easily cured, if you are willing to take a little risk.

Five Vancouver Shops I Love

I admit it. I have a habit of frequenting the larger retail stores in the city – H&M, Forever 21, and ZARA are just a few of the stores I shop at regularly. But on occasion, I crave a different kind of experience.

One that doesn’t have me entering a store filled with rows and rows of the same cardigan. A shopping experience that’s more intimate and inviting, allowing me the opportunity to truly find something special; an item that only a few are privy to.

That’s when I head to some of my favourite boutiques in the city, where I’m bound to find something that isn’t being purchased-on-repeat by the masses.
