Let’s Catch Up

Sardinia

Bologna. Elba. Roma. Firenze, and Sardegna. Amazing and beautiful Italian cities that I’ve visited in the past few weeks and I am beyond words, especially after arriving in Paris.

Here’s what I’ve been up to. Let’s Catch Up!

Why Paris you ask? Because my mother came to visit! The stars aligned for my mom to have a European adventure this summer and it has always been her dream to see Paris, so I am happy to say, her dreams have been fulfilled. We have spent the past four days exploring this magical French city, watching her eyes light up like a kid in a candy store. It truly warmed my heart and I am so thankful we had the opportunity to tour the City of Light together.

Some of my favourite highlights of our brief Parisian experience:

– Our first dinner out at a great French restaurant, complete with “Karaoke” (not us, and not in what you expect in North America), and delicious French wine

– Seeing the Eiffel tower lit up at night

– Taking a sightseeing cruise on the Siene, sipping on champagne

Where am I going?

Currently, I’m riding the train to Amsterdam. The gang and I are heading to this magical city for three days, then we’re off to Belgium for three, and finally, back to Paris for an overnight so we can all catch our flights to Greece the morning of June 28. Holy cow, it’s almost July!

Whose the gang?

Not only is my beautiful and charismatic mother here, but also my friend Kerri! She arrived on Saturday and will be travelling with Andy and I for two weeks! We are over the moon to have her join because she is one well travelled and generally awesome lady.

What am I excited about?

So much!

Amsterdam was one of my favourite cities on the last European tour, so I’m very excited in having the chance to revisit. If my memory serves me correctly, Amsterdam has some amazing shopping – and after five months of touring Europe, I am in desperate need of a few new items.

After our short but wonderful time here, we’ll be off to visit Brussels. We are planning a day trip to the fairytale city of Bruges, including a Belgian beer tour (yay!). If anyone has any recommendations on what company to use, let me know!

Finally, I have decided with my mom here, I am going to take the week off blogging. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience for both of us and I want to be fully engaged. I will still be posting on my social media channels, so follow along on Twitter and Instagram to see what we get up to!

Any tips from travellers to Amsterdam or Brussels?
